世の中には、たくさんのWebサイトがあります。そして、サイトのデザインは
千差万別です。
ヒトはデザインが異なっていても少し時間をかければ、サイトにある文章の関係が
分かります(中には意味不明なサイトもありますが)。新しいサイトを見つけるたび
に、「このサイトの読み方」とかいうページを熟読してからそのサイトを閲覧する
ような人はいないはずです。
しかし、コンピュータには それができません。コンピュータが不得意とするところ
なのです。
そこで登場するのが、RSS です。RSS の書き方は決まっており、サイトのデザインの
ように千差万別ではないため、コンピュータが読んで、処理することができます。
そして人間も、ネットの利用に関して、コンピュータの助けを得ることができます。
なお、RSS とは、RDF Site Summary の略。RDFとは、Resource Description Framework
の略です。
